As an investigative artist, I actively seek out unanswered questions and seek to explore and understand them with my artwork. I gather information and respond to it, often with sculpture, film, illustration and writing.
I’m obsessed with science, for one thing, but scientists themselves fascinate me. They pepper the landscape of history like Grecian heroes, fighting against the ignorance of their time, navigating their way through the darkness of space or the human body and planting their flags in stars and buboes. Without these people the sky would still be held up a Titan and headaches would still be caused by malevolent spirits.
Being able to help interpret and spread awareness about the discoveries of modern research is incredibly exciting. This residency has granted me access to the forefront of medical understanding and that to me is an impeccable honour.
