In a recent WCMR Science Seminar, Dr Krutik Patel gave a talk to introduce the International Centre for Genomic Medicine in Neuromuscular Disease (ICGNMD) to the WCMR team. The ICGMND is a global collaborative project that partners leading neuromuscular centres in the UK (Newcastle, Cambridge and UCL) with clinical research teams in countries that include India, Turkey, South Africa, Zambia, and Brazil. UK sites provide expert clinical advice, genomic sequencing, and computational support to our international partners with the aims of achieving improved rates of genetic diagnosis, better understanding of the pan-ethnic genetic architecture of neuromuscular disease and high-quality education and training for the neuromuscular specialists of the future.
