Biography

I am a Bioresource Technician and provide technical support for the day to day operation of the Wellcome Centre for Mitochondrial Research and support the work of the Newcastle Mitochondrial Research Biobank, working with the NHS Highly Specialised Diagnostic Laboratory to facilitate research projects.

My role involves working on human pathological samples, which includes the freezing and cryosectioning of muscle biopsies; microtomy and the establishment and maintenance of human primary cell lines. I am also currently involved in a number of clinical trials, including the AIMM Study.
