I initially worked in Neurology for 5 years prior to joining the Mitochondrial Research Group over twenty years ago and have watched it grow from a small department into the international centre it has become today. My role is to provide clinical and administrative support to the clinical team Professor Turnbull, Dr McFarland, Dr Schaefer, Dr Gorman, Sister Feeney as well as all the diagnostic team.
The administrative team are a very close-knit group who provide confidential and sympathetic support for both patients and families. We are often the first contact families and clinicians have with the Mitochondrial Group and we endeavour to help in any way we can.
We collaborate closely with departments within the Royal Victoria Infirmary but also with hospitals locally and nationally.
